I'm very excited to announce our giveaway! A copy of MillaMia's stunning new book Winter Knitting and what’s more the very lovely MillaMia duo Katarina and Helena have signed this copy just for us!
Winter Knitting features knitting patterns for both the home and the family using MillaMia's popular Naturally Soft Merino. Beautifully photographed throughout on location in Sweden it has a real flavour of a Scandinavian Christmas with gift ideas to knit for the home and family as well as recipes and paper craft ideas to make your Christmas a special one.
One of the patterns I love are the Nordic Nightscape Cushions, they would be make a lovely Christmas gift and are an easy knit as rather than fair isle the design is done using Swiss darning.
To knit either of these cushions you will need four 50g balls of MillaMia Naturally Soft Merino in Midnight or Scarlet and one ball of Snow. They would also look great knitted in Pitch Black and Snow or for a more muted look go for Storm and Snow.
Snow Storm Cowl and Wristwarmers, shown in MillaMia Naturally Soft Merino in Forget Me Not and Snow are knit in Fair Isle. The cowl can be knit in the round or in rows as the pattern gives instructions for both versions. I think this matching set would make a fantastic gift.
Madicken Cape is perhaps my favourite pattern in Winter Knitting. I can image myself wrapped up in this on my afternoon stroll on Christmas Day, it would certainly keep you nice and warm especially with the stunning cable detailing to the cowl.
It is shown here in Putty Grey, but it would also look great knitted up in Storm, Sable or Snow. The book also includes a child's version too! I've included the yarn requirements below for the adult cape.
