Make it a Cashmere Christmas!

December 11, 2015

If you could make a wish for any yarn this Christmas it surely has to be cashmere! Cashmere is one of the most luxurious yarns to knit with and amazing to wear. It's incredibly warm; eight times warmer than wool and very soft making it perfect for things worn close to your skin.

Those clever folk at Pepperberry Knits have put together eight mini skeins of beautiful coordinating colours in a fun sized bundle which gives you enough yarn to knit a cowl. We stock eight different colour combinations, my favourite is Bohemian which definitely calls to my more colourful side but I also love fresh colours used in 12th Man too!

Pepperberry Knits Fun Sized Bundles DK; eight mini skeins, 182m / 200yds

clockwise from top left: Bohemian, Martha's Vineyard, Beachcomber, 12th Man, Crazy Redhead, Urbanite, British and Artist.

We have three cowl patterns which you can download free from our website. Each cowl uses just one fun sized bundled of DK. They are knit in the round starting with a provisional cast on and finished off by grafting the live stitches using the Kitchener stitch.

top to bottom:  Lucy Cowl shown here knitted in Martha's Vineyard, Lydia Cowl has been knit in 12th Man and Artist has been used to knit Hillary Cowl.

One of these knitting projects would be great to do during the holiday season, they'd be perfect for an afternoon watching It's a Wonderful Life, as they are knit in stocking stitch! Should you fancy a longer infinitely cowl then you'll need just two Fun Sized Bundles or combine a 50g skein of Pepperberry Knits DK with your favourite colour combo for a striped hat!

Make sure you get the one you want this Christmas by adding it to your Tangled Yarn wishlist, you can then email your list to the person you'd like to buy it for you!

Wishing you a Merry Knitmas!
