Douglas Cardi [Andrea Mowry]

Douglas Cardi by Andrea Mowry Knit is a grandpa-style cardigan complete with stripes, big pockets, and a relaxed fit. The body of the cardigan is worked in stocking stitch in one piece from the bottom up. A three-needle cast-off is used to join and cast off the shoulders. Stitches are picked up for the sleeves and afterthought pockets are worked on both sides of the cardigan. Finally, the button band is knit and sewn in place using mattress stitch.

The sample was knit in Tukuwool DK and is shown in Auri, Repo, Rohto, Ujo and Selja.

Knitting Needles: Main Fabric: US 7/4.5 mm – 32”/80 cm to 40”/100 cm circular and preferred needles for small circum. knitting (Magic Loop or DPNs), plus a spare for the 3-needle bind off.
Ribbing: 3.75 mm (US 5) - 80 cm (32") to 100 cm (40") circular and preferred needles for small circumference knitting (Magic Loop or DPNs)
Sleeve: 5 mm (US *) – preferred needles for small circumference knitting (Magic Loop or DPNs). (Optional - if necessary to retain gauge.)
Use the needle size you need to achieve the pattern's gauge.
