    Beginner Sock Knitting Workshop

Polite notice - we ask you not to use a discount code to purchase this workshop. Anyone purchasing a workshop using a discount code will be asked to pay the difference.

Unlock the world of cosy comfort and stylish warmth with our Beginner Sock Knitting Workshop at Tangled Yarn! If you've ever wanted to master knitting socks, this hands-on session is the perfect opportunity to get started.

Location: Tangled Yarn, 81 Coppice Road, Poynton, Cheshire SK12 1SL
    Date & Time: Sunday 14th April, 10 am - 4 pm
Class Size: maximum of 7 people.

We will work on a mini sock sample together, where you will learn how to knit in the round on double-point needles. During this process, we will use a stretchy cast on, turn the heel, shape the instep and graft the toe using Kitchener Stitch.

Required Skill Level: You will need a basic understanding of the principles of knitting (casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch). This class is not suitable if you don't know how to knit already.

Materials Included: a set of double-point needles (DPNs) and yarn to knit your mini sample. Enjoy an exclusive 10% discount on the day. Coffee and tea are included, along with biscuits and cake. Lunch is not included, so please bring a packed lunch with you.

Our experienced instructor, Marianne, is a freelance tutor, indie yarn dyer, and designer based in Liverpool. She has been teaching yarn crafts for over seven years. Marianne learned to knit as a child, taught by her family, like many others. Later, she pursued a BSc (Hons) degree in Knitwear Design and Production and has been knitting and crocheting for over 30 years. She has a wealth of experience and is passionate about sharing with others. She aims to keep these crafts alive and empower others to share the joy of craft.

Cancellation policy - Please be aware that if there are not enough participants to reasonably justify holding a workshop, it may be cancelled the week prior to the scheduled date. We will inform you as soon as possible if cancellation is likely. If the workshop is cancelled for any reason, you will receive a full refund.

If you cancel your place on the workshop with less than 72 hours of notice you will not receive a refund.
