Open Waters Shawl [Melanie Berg]

Open Waters Shawl [Melanie Berg] - - Knitting Pattern - Melanie Berg

Melanie Berg's design Open Water Shawl first appeared in Making Magazine, No2 - Fauna.

When Melanie first started thinking about this design and what she wanted, she stumbled over a photograph of a whale shark and its fascinating patterning. This shawl is Melanie's take on translating this graphic pattern into knitwear—its wavy lines, its dots and the fluid overall impression.

The Fibre Co. Canopy Fingering turned out to be the perfect yarn choice - its amazing stitch definition really lets the pattern shine. The sample is shown in the colourway River Dolphin
