Base Doodle Sock by Pacific Knit Co. is a flexible top-down sock pattern designed to be customised with your favourite Doodle charts.

This is a printed brochure of the Base Doodle Sock pattern only. Colourwork charts are not included and can be added separately using any compatible Pacific Knit Co. Doodle Deck.

Part of the Pacific Knit Co. Doodle system, this versatile sock recipe gives you plenty of ways to make it your own. Work colourwork throughout, decorate just the leg, add a small motif around the cuff, or experiment with different ribbing, heel and toe options.

The socks are worked in the round from the top down. After the cuff, optional stranded colourwork is worked along the leg. Waste yarn is added for an afterthought heel before continuing the colourwork along the foot. The toe is then shaped and grafted, with the heel stitches picked up and worked at the end.

Because Pacific Knit Co. Doodle motifs are designed to work across the wider Doodle range, you can mix and match charts from any compatible Doodle Deck to create completely different socks each time.

Approximate foot circumference:

• 10, 15 (20, 25) cm
• 4, 6 (8, 10) in

Approximate sock height:

• 7.5, 12.5 (20, 22.5) cm
• 3, 5 (8, 10) in

Approximate foot length:

• 11, 17.5 (25, 30) cm
• 4.5, 8.5 (10, 12) in

Yarn

Use any DK, light worsted or sport weight yarn that gives the correct gauge. Doodle patterns are ideal for using leftover yarn, advent minis and smaller quantities from your stash.

Approximate total yardage:

• 150, 250 (300, 350) yds
• 137, 229 (274, 320) m

Needles

• 3.75mm / US 5, or size needed to achieve gauge
• One size smaller for ribbing, if preferred
• 20cm / 8in circular needles, magic loop or DPNs

Gauge

• 24 sts and 24 rnds = 10 cm / 4 in

You will also need

• Stitch markers, waste yarn and a tapestry needle.
