Base Doodle Stocking by Pacific Knit Co. is a wonderfully customisable festive stocking pattern designed to be knitted again and again.
This is a printed brochure of the Base Doodle Stocking pattern only. Colourwork charts are not included and can be added separately using any compatible Pacific Knit Co. Doodle Deck.
Part of the Pacific Knit Co. Doodle system, the pattern gives you a simple framework that you can personalise however you like. Keep your stocking plain, add names for different family members, or choose your favourite winter and festive motifs to create something completely unique.
The stocking is worked from the top down, beginning with the cuff. An optional colourwork section is followed by a mock short-row heel, further colourwork if desired, and toe shaping. It is finished with an i-cord hanging loop.
Because Doodle patterns are designed to work with interchangeable charts, you can use motifs from any compatible Doodle Deck and mix them in different combinations each time you knit the pattern.

- Approx. 40 cm / 16 in finished leg length
Yarn
Use any DK, light worsted or sport weight yarn that gives the correct gauge. Doodle patterns are ideal for using leftover yarn, advent minis and smaller amounts from your stash.

Needles
- 3.75mm / US 5, or size needed to achieve gauge
- One size smaller for ribbing, if preferred
- DPNs, magic loop or a short circular needle for heel and toe shaping
Gauge
- 24 sts and 24 rnds = 10 cm / 4 in

- Stitch markers, scissors and a tapestry needle.
