Retrosaria Rosa Pomar Pegulhal is a beautifully woolly 4ply yarn made in Portugal from native Campaniça and Black Merino sheep.
Pegulhal has that lovely, honest woolly feel we really like. It’s slightly rustic in the skein, but softens and blooms beautifully once washed, creating a warm fabric with plenty of character and excellent stitch definition.
This non-superwash Portuguese wool is particularly lovely for stranded colourwork, where the woolly fibres help the stitches and colours settle beautifully together. Pegulhal is also the original yarn used for The Sheep Sweater by Rosa Pomar, and works beautifully for lightweight sweaters, cardigans and accessories.
Made entirely in Portugal from free-ranging sheep, Pegulhal is neither bleached nor superwash treated.
