  • Stolen Stitches KAL

    September 01, 2015 3 min read 0 Comments

I'm really excited to announce that this year Tangled Yarn will be joining in with designer Carol Feller's yearly knit along. Carol aka Stolen Stitches has in previous years run some really engaging knit alongs which she hosts in her Ravelry Group.

This year Carol has collaborated with Fyberspates and has used their beautiful yarn, Cumulus. She has designed a lightweight and warm sweater, Mithral. Mithral is perfect for the cooler autumn months as it isn't too bulky. This pretty lace sweater is knit from the top down and has a flattering a-line shape with an empire waist. The neckline comes with different options, with a choice of neither a cowl, rounded or scooped neckline.

If you've not knitted with Fyberspates Cumulus before then you are in for a real treat. It's luxurious blend of Baby Suri Alpaca and Mulberry Silk which has a delicate halo and knits up to create a drapey soft light fabric. Cumulus is a great alternative to mohair, it's much softer and not in the least bit itchy. Mithral has been photographed in the colour Slate which there are a further 13 colours to choose from.

     HOW DOES THE KAL WORK

The KAL consists of as a series of 4 clues, with one released every 2 weeks. Each clue contains the next part of the pattern, a section on modification tips, and links to online tutorials for any tricky sections. You will get a download code when you purchase your yarn from us which you can then use on Ravelry to download your PDF pattern which you can then store to your Ravelry library.

The first clue will be released on October 1st; so this month is all about getting ready to knit the perfect sweater! You'll also receive a bonus pattern, the Mithral Hat which will help you to swatch in the round as it uses the same lace pattern used in the sweater.

You'll receive details on yarn quantities, sizing, a schematic, gauge information and lace chart. You'll have access to Carol's Ravelry KAL Forum, where you can get pattern questions answered directly by Carol herself!
