Lots of us would usually be going away over the summer or celebrating summer with festivals and the like, but this year it's very different we have to take our holiday fun where we can find it!
The latest issue of Inside Crochet is a riot of colourful sunshine and flowers that is bound to inject a little holiday spirit into your summer staycation. There are a series of patterns by Claire Montgomerie that caught my eye that has a real festival vibe. Claire's motif shawl is so pretty, and she has designed matching earrings and a rather cute neckless, all of which use one of our favourite yarns, Økologisk Sommeruld.
Økologisk Sommeruld is from CaMaRose in Denmark and means organic summer wool in English. It's a 4ply weight and is a gorgeous blend of merino wool and cotton, working up beautifully when crocheted into a soft fabric with a fabulous stitch definition.
The shawl is made up of individual motifs that are then crocheted together at the end, so a good project to work on while it's warm and if you are going out for the day you can take this with as it's very portable.
If you are inspired to make any of Claire Montgomerie's collection from Inside Crochet I'd love to see them do tag us on Instagram @tangledyarnuk and remember to tag Inside Crochet @insidecrochet and Claire @clairemontyknits
