With its unusual shape and exciting combination of ombre colour transitions and textured lines, Canto will make your heart sing, and your needles fly!

The hybrid cowl by Winter’s Weather Knits is an easy but interesting knit. While wearing, its tip makes Canto look like a small triangular shawl, even though you simply slip it over your head. Enjoy its cuddly warmth and adapt its size exactly to your preferences. The three-tone design offers wonderful possibilities for playing with the colour palette of Rosy Green Wool's Lovely Merino Treat and creating your very personal colour transitions.

Canto is knitted at an angle in garter stitch rows, then seamed together at the back. To obtain the unusual shape with the tip, you work two sections with increases, decreasing in the third. The textured lines are created using simple slipped stitches, while alternating rows of different coloured yarns form the colour gradient. Finally, an I-cord edges give it a neat finish.

The sample is shown knit in Cedar, Olive and Haze.

Yarn: Rosy Green Wool – Lovely Merino Treat (100% softest organic Merino) 210 m (230 yds) per 100 g in colours Cedar (A) (1 skein, 59 g), Olive (B) (1 skein, 84 g), and Haze (C) (1 skein, 69 g).

Needles: 3.75 mm (US 5) 60 cm (24 in) circular needle. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Gauge: 22 sts x 44 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) over Garter St with 3.75 mm (US 5) needles after blocking
